Member Social at Emily Fox’s Studio
December 8 @ 5:45 pm - 8:30 pmFree
Join us for an evening social with a twist! Or a rhumba, or cha-cha…
Grab your dancing shoes – Emily Fox is going to teach us a step or two.
After the dance lesson, we’ll head over to Great Wall restaurant for a bite to eat and continue socializing.
Some tips from Emily:
The studio floor is vulnerable to scratching. For this reason, it’s important that you bring clean, dry, indoor-only shoes.
If you wear your shoes from your car into the studio, they will get grit on the soles and will need to be cleaned thoroughly before entering the studio.
If you are wearing heels, I have a variety of sizes of heel guards you can borrow.
For ease of dancing and the health of your knees, it’s important to wear shoes with a smooth soul without traction. (We can make your shoes glide with a temporary application of painter’s tape)
The best shoes:
- Have a flexible sole (not clogs)
- Are connected to your feet at the heel (not slide-ins, flip-flops, etc.)
- Have a separate sole and heel (not a wedge)
- Have heels low enough that you can walk comfortably.
Socks are allowed, but not preferred due to slipping.
Bare feet are possible but not preferred due to traction
Wear layers. You might get warm, you might get cool – you should be comfortable.
Emily’s studio is in the Florence Community Center. Park in back, enter through the side door, then head upstairs to Room 14, midway down the hall.
