Book Summary: In his latest book Life Force, Tony describes the health challenges he’s had to overcome. When Tony was a sophomore in high school, he went from a height of 5’1” to well over 6’ in a year. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor on the pituitary gland that gave him a form of gigantism. Thankfully, the tumor shrunk and has not caused any further issues. Tony also had a snowboarding accident in which he tore the rotator cuff in his shoulder and experienced 9.9/10 pain levels. He avoided surgery and has fully recovered. Tony also had mercury poisoning from eating too much tuna and swordfish. His mercury levels were so high that he had memory loss, extreme fatigue, and his doctor told him he was at risk of going into cardiac arrest. He was able to detox and return to normal.

“A healthy person has a thousand wishes, but a sick person has only one.” —Indian proverb

  • One of the central principles of the book is that we need to function as the CEO of our health. According to Tony, we can’t let anyone else determine our destiny, no matter how knowledgeable or caring they may be. Experts should be our coaches, not our commanders.
